About Us

Jenny and Neville

'Owner operators' Jenny and Neville Youngman are a rare breed today as most retirement villages are owned by multi national companies or corporates.

Being ‘owner-operators’ means Jenny and Neville are always available to answer any concerns or queries from residents or relatives. "It also means we can fix matters promptly and make decisions when you need us to."

The couple have a wealth of experience in aged care having owned and operated two other aged care facilities prior to purchasing Maples Lifecare in 2005.

Jenny is a Registered Nurse and has experience in operating quality and risk activities in the public health sector. She has a Post Graduate Diploma in Health Management which complements her practical background to managing healthcare facilities.

After 15 years in the aged care sector, and with three adult children and an interest in rowing and cycling, Jenny is used to juggling all kinds of demands, but says she thrives on the challenges and joys of working with older people.

"Having a long term relationship with residents and their families is very rewarding and I feel I do make a positive difference towards their quality of life".

Neville’s background is in sales, marketing and management. His responsibilities at Maples Lifecare include marketing the retirement village units, maintenance and administration. He has a Bachelor of Business Studies Degree from Massey University and loves the outdoors like Jenny, with a passion for rowing and road cycling.

"For me, supporting the older person is all about protecting their vulnerability. I learn much from them about the intricacies of life."
